Anxiety counselling for when your mind won’t switch off.
Anxiety can affect far more than how you feel. It can influence how you think, make decisions, relate to other people and manage everyday life.
Perhaps you feel constantly overwhelmed, struggle to switch off, find yourself overthinking or second-guessing decisions, or experience a persistent sense of unease that you can’t quite explain. You may feel as though you’re always anticipating what could go wrong, even when everything appears to be fine on the surface.
Whatever anxiety looks like for you, you don’t have to wait until it becomes unbearable before seeking support.
There are many things that can help us manage anxiety, including exercise, mindfulness, medication and practical coping strategies. These can be valuable tools for reducing symptoms and helping you feel more grounded.
Counselling can offer something different: the opportunity to understand your anxiety, rather than simply trying to manage it.
Together, we can begin to explore what might be contributing to how you’re feeling, the thoughts and patterns that keep anxiety going, and whether there are experiences, pressures or emotions sitting underneath the surface.
My role isn’t to judge, tell you what you should be doing, or dismiss your worries as insignificant. I offer a confidential, supportive space where you can say the things that may feel too difficult, irrational or trivial to say elsewhere.
Sometimes simply having somewhere to put all those thoughts can be the first step towards making sense of them.
Through a person-centred approach, we can work at your pace to develop a greater understanding of yourself, your anxiety and what you need to feel more able to cope with life.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you come to counselling. You just need to start somewhere.
